Starward Lagavulin Cask Strength is a limited-edition Australian single malt whisky that marries the bold flavors of Melbourne's Starward Distillery with the smoky depth of Islay's Lagavulin. Initially matured for three years in Australian red wine barrels, the whisky undergoes an additional 18-month finish in ex-Lagavulin peated Scotch casks. Bottled at a robust 55% ABV, this expression showcases a harmonious blend of tropical fruit notes and coastal peat smoke, reflecting the innovative spirit of Starward and the traditional craftsmanship of Lagavulin. 

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Aromatic blend of charred pineapple and fresh nectarine, complemented by subtle coastal peat and a hint of iodine. 

• Palate: Dominant tropical fruit flavors, notably char-grilled pineapple, intertwined with delicate black tea nuances and a touch of brine, offering a rich yet gentle smokiness. 

• Finish: Drying ash transitions into lingering tropical fruits and toasted oak, leaving a lasting impression of the collaboration's character.
