Pelotón de la Muerte Pechuga is an artisanal mezcal crafted in Mazatlán, Guerrero, by maestro mezcalero Rodolfo Obregón. This vegan expression is made from a field blend of wild Guerrero agaves—Maguey Criollo (A. angustifolia Rubescens) and Ancho (A. cupreata)—which are roasted and distilled together. During the second distillation, a selection of botanicals, including oranges, mandarins, mint, anise, and cinnamon, are suspended in the still, infusing the spirit with their flavors. The result is a mezcal with a bright, herbaceous, and fruity profile, bottled at 45.1% ABV.
Tasting Notes:
-
Aroma: Fresh cut yellow bell pepper and makrut lime peel.
-
Palate: Bright citrus peel flavors with touches of lemon, grapefruit, and orange.
-
Finish: Light smoke accompanies notes of citrus, tropical melon, pineapple, elderflower, and mint.
This mezcal is versatile, making it suitable for sipping neat or as a refined base in premium cocktails.
