The Oban Distillers Edition is a recurring annual release that showcases a different facet of the classic Oban single malt character. Each year, whisky that has reached the standard maturation profile (akin to the Oban 14 Year Old) undergoes a secondary maturation, or 'finishing', period in specially selected Montilla Fino sherry casks. This double maturation process enhances Oban's signature complex balance of Highland fruit, malt, gentle smoke, and coastal brine with distinctive nutty, fruity, and saline notes imparted by the dry Montilla Fino wood. Each bottling carries specific distillation and bottling years, making it a unique snapshot within this ongoing series.
Tasting Notes (General Profile across Vintages):
- Nose: Builds upon the familiar Oban base of orchard fruits (apple, pear) and sea breeze with added layers from the Montilla Fino cask: distinct notes of green grapes, crushed almonds or walnuts, hints of chamomile, and a crisp, inviting salinity.
- Palate: Creamy and medium-bodied. Flavours of sweet malt, baked apple, and orange zest are elegantly complemented by nutty notes (toasted almond), salted caramel, and hints of white grape or melon. The signature Oban spice and maritime saltiness are often enhanced, creating a delightful interplay between sweet, salty, and fruity elements.
- Finish: Medium to long and characteristically drier than standard Oban, reflecting the Fino influence. Lingering notes of sea salt, toasted nuts, crisp green fruit, gentle spice, and a final whisper of oak and subtle smoke.

Order Processing:
All in-stock items will be shipped within 1-2 business days from the date of order confirmation. Special order items or products not currently in stock may require additional processing time. You will be notified via email if any delays are expected with your order.
Adult Signature Requirement:
In compliance with federal law, all shipments containing alcohol require an adult signature (21 years or older) upon delivery. If no eligible person is available to sign for the delivery, the carrier will hold the package and attempt delivery on the next business day. A total of three delivery attempts will be made.
Carrier Warehouse Hold:
If delivery fails after three attempts, the package will be held at the carrier’s warehouse for up to 48 hours. During this time, the recipient is responsible for arranging pickup. If the package is not retrieved within the holding period, it will be returned to us.
Reshipment and Additional Costs:
If a package is returned due to failed delivery attempts or failure to collect the package from the warehouse, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipment. Bottles2Gift.com is not responsible for additional shipping fees incurred due to reshipment.
Shipping Restrictions:
Please be aware that we do not ship to P.O. Boxes or any location where alcohol delivery is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local shipping regulations prior to placing an order.
Damaged Shipments:
If your order arrives damaged or broken, please contact our customer service team immediately to report the issue. We will work with you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
