The Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition 150th Single Malt Scotch Whisky was released in 2022 to celebrate the 150th Open Championship held at St Andrews. As the official spirit partner of The Open, Loch Lomond created this special bottling in collaboration with Scottish golfing legend Colin Montgomerie.   

Description: This single malt aims to capture the signature style of Loch Lomond, known for its fruity character with a subtle hint of peat and smoke. It was matured in American oak casks before undergoing a finishing period in Bordeaux red wine barriques (Claret casks). This additional maturation in red wine casks was intended to add a layer of complexity and rich fruit notes to the whisky, complementing the distillery's house style. The bottling is at 46% ABV.   

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh and fruity, with notes of peach, pear, and red apples, along with rose floral hints. Some also describe peaches and plums with a dusting of cinnamon.   
• Palate: A burst of strawberry, peach, and lime citrus leads into creamy fudge and light biscuit sweetness. Some find creamy vanilla and soft marshmallow, plus strawberry and a touch of rose.   
• Finish: Long with lingering oak spice and a soft smoky character. Others note chocolate-chip cookies and plump sultanas.   

Overall Impression: The Loch Lomond The Open Special Edition 150th Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited edition release created to commemorate a significant milestone in golf history. The combination of American oak maturation and a Claret red wine cask finish suggests a whisky that balances the distillery's fruity and slightly smoky profile with added layers of red fruit and complexity from the wine influence. It's presented as a special dram for both whisky and golf enthusiasts.

Adult Signature Requirement:
In compliance with federal law, all shipments containing alcohol require an adult signature (21 years or older) upon delivery. If no eligible person is available to sign for the delivery, the carrier will hold the package and attempt delivery on the next business day. A total of three delivery attempts will be made.

Carrier Warehouse Hold:
If delivery fails after three attempts, the package will be held at the carrier’s warehouse for up to 48 hours. During this time, the recipient is responsible for arranging pickup. If the package is not retrieved within the holding period, it will be returned to us.

Reshipment and Additional Costs:
If a package is returned due to failed delivery attempts or failure to collect the package from the warehouse, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipment. Bottles2Gift.com is not responsible for additional shipping fees incurred due to reshipment.

Shipping Restrictions:
