La Tierra de Acre Mezcal Espadín is an artisanal mezcal produced by maestro mezcalero Honorato Cruz in Santa Ana del Río, Oaxaca. Crafted from 7–8-year-old Espadín agave (Agave angustifolia), the agave hearts are roasted for five days, milled using a traditional tahona (stone wheel), fermented with spring water, and double-distilled in copper stills. Bottled at 45% ABV, this mezcal showcases the rich traditions of Oaxacan mezcal production.
Tasting Notes:
-
Aroma: Medium intensity with floral notes and hints of smoked agave, pineapple, and lime.
-
Palate: Slightly spicy in the initial sips, complemented by a subtle sweetness derived from the mature, slow-cooked agave.
-
Finish: Light and smooth, making it suitable for sipping neat or as a base in cocktails like Palomas and Mezcal Margaritas.
This mezcal's complex profile makes it a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking depth and character in their spirits.
