Komos Añejo Cristalino Tequila is a luxury, ultra-premium tequila that begins as Añejo, aged for a minimum of 12 months in French oak white wine barrels. What sets it apart is its unique finishing process: it is then aged in rare French oak barrels that were previously used to age Sauternes wine, a sweet dessert wine from Bordeaux. Finally, it undergoes a charcoal filtration process to remove the color while retaining the complex flavors imparted by the aging and finishing. This results in a crystal-clear tequila with the depth and character of an Añejo.
Tasting Notes:
- Color: Clear and bright.
- Aroma: Features notes of cooked agave, vanilla, and honey, layered with the distinct sweetness and fruitiness from the Sauternes wine barrel finish. Expect hints of dried fruit, apricot, and possibly a touch of floral notes.
- Palate: Smooth and elegant, with a harmonious blend of agave sweetness, oak spice, and the rich, dessert wine character. Flavors of vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit are often present, along with subtle notes of citrus and a hint of minerality.
- Finish: Long and luxurious, with a smooth and warm finish that echoes the sweet and fruity notes from the Sauternes cask.

Luxury tequila, refined. Tequila Komos combines the highest artistry in tequila-making with innovation inspired by Mediterranean wine-making techniques. The Añejo Cristalino expression is aged for a minimum of one year in French oak white wine barrels before being dripped through a charcoal column to refine and remove impurities and it is finished with the wine-making technique of tumbling the liquid to take on oxygen to create a rich mouthfeel. Crystal-clear and perfectly smooth, Tequila Komos is a stunning expression of what a Cristalino tequila can be. The iconic bottle is handmade vitrified porcelain and is meant to be up-cycled to live on long after you have finished enjoying what lies within.
