Hussong's Platinum Añejo Cristalino Tequila 100% de Agave

Hussong's Platinum Añejo Tequila is a unique expression from Hussong's, a brand with a long history in Baja California. This tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and is twice-distilled in stainless steel stills. It undergoes an aging process of 15 months in bourbon barrels. What sets it apart is that after aging, it is filtered to a crystal-clear appearance, a process more commonly associated with Cristalino tequilas. It is bottled by hand in distinctive clay jugs and sealed with cork, reflecting the spirit of Baja.

Tasting Notes:

• Color: Crystal clear due to the filtration process.  
• Aroma: While the filtration removes the typical color of an Añejo, it also significantly reduces the traditional vanilla and spice aromas associated with barrel aging. Expect a nose with notes of mint, jalapeño, and a hint of wood pulp. Some also detect cooked agave and minerals.
• Palate: The palate is often described as thin, potentially lacking the pronounced oak and agave flavors expected from an Añejo. Some note cooked agave, oak, and some black pepper.
• Finish: The finish is generally light with a subtle spice, but some find it to be somewhat dilute.
