Compass Box No Name 2 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Compass Box No Name No. 2 is the second release in the "No Name" series, following its heavily peated predecessor. While still prominently smoky, No. 2 is described as a slightly lighter, perhaps more elegant, exploration of peat. It's a blended malt Scotch whisky, meaning it only contains single malt whiskies from different distilleries, with no grain whisky. The blend primarily features Caol Ila (from Islay, aged in refill Sherry casks), Talisker (from the Isle of Skye, aged in re-charred American oak), and Clynelish (from the Northern Highlands, aged in re-charred American oak), with a tiny addition of a Highland malt blend finished in French oak. It's bottled at 48.9% ABV, non-chill filtered, and has a natural color.   

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Expect waves of peat smoke, often described as bonfire-like or smoldering wood, mingled with Islay's coastal brininess (seaweed, salt). This is balanced by a distinct waxiness (often attributed to the Clynelish), honey sweetness, and fruit notes – particularly red berries (cherry, raspberry), citrus (orange), and sometimes tropical hints. Some also find floral or even faint medicinal/iodine notes.
• Palate: The smoke carries through strongly, often tasting like ash, campfire embers, or wood smoke, alongside cracked black pepper spice. The fruitiness persists, with sweet cherries, oranges, and berries mingling with the peat. The waxy texture and honey/malty sweetness provide balance. Notes of dark chocolate, oak spice, and a distinct minerality have also been mentioned.
• Finish: Long, drying, and smoky. The peat smoke lingers, often becoming sweeter, alongside lingering notes of dark fruit (cherries), honeycomb, and pepper spice.

Adult Signature Requirement:
In compliance with federal law, all shipments containing alcohol require an adult signature (21 years or older) upon delivery. If no eligible person is available to sign for the delivery, the carrier will hold the package and attempt delivery on the next business day. A total of three delivery attempts will be made.

Carrier Warehouse Hold:
If delivery fails after three attempts, the package will be held at the carrier’s warehouse for up to 48 hours. During this time, the recipient is responsible for arranging pickup. If the package is not retrieved within the holding period, it will be returned to us.

Reshipment and Additional Costs:
If a package is returned due to failed delivery attempts or failure to collect the package from the warehouse, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipment. Bottles2Gift.com is not responsible for additional shipping fees incurred due to reshipment.

Shipping Restrictions:
Please be aware that we do not ship to P.O. Boxes or any location where alcohol delivery is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local shipping regulations prior to placing an order.

Damaged Shipments:
If your order arrives damaged or broken, please contact our customer service team immediately to report the issue. We will work with you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
