Port Charlotte PMC:01 2013 is the sixth release in Bruichladdich Distillery's Cask Exploration series, representing a story of place and the influence of unique maturation. This heavily peated Islay single malt was distilled in 2013 using 100% Scottish Concerto barley, peated to 40 PPM (Phenol Parts per Million). It initially matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels for four years before being re-casked in 2017 into Pomerol wine casks from the Right Bank of Bordeaux for a further five years. This release marks the first time Port Charlotte spirit has been matured in Pomerol casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 54.5% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.
