Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a permanent expression in the distillery's core range and, at just 5 years old, represents the youngest Ardbeg available. This deliberately feisty and intensely smoky single malt is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. It's designed to offer a raw, untamed, and "tongue-tingling" glimpse into Ardbeg's powerful spirit at a younger age, showcasing monstrously smoky notes directly from the still alongside influences from its cask maturation.
Tasting Notes:

Nose: Intense and pungent aromas burst forth, dominated by fresh, sharp peat smoke, cracked black pepper, and pine resin. Hints of green apple, pear drop, smoked ham, aniseed, and underlying vanilla emerge through the powerful smoke.

Palate: A big, explosive arrival delivers intense flavours of peat smoke, soot, tar, and ash. This is quickly followed by notes of dark chocolate, espresso, black pepper spice, salted liquorice, and a distinct savoury, almost meaty character. The youthfulness lends a feisty, tongue-tingling quality.

Finish: Long, intensely smoky, and notably spicy. Lingering notes of peat smoke, black pepper, cocoa powder, salted caramel, and a final briny, medicinal kick fade slowly, leaving a powerful smoky impression.
