Product Description:
A classic Speyside single malt, The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old gains its distinctive character from maturation in two different wood types. It spends most of its 12 years aging in traditional American oak ex-bourbon casks, which impart soft vanilla and honey notes. It is then transferred to first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry butts for a finishing period (around 9 months). This "wood finishing" process, pioneered by Balvenie, adds depth, complexity, rich dried fruit notes, and spice.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet fruit (like berries or plums) and Oloroso sherry notes, layered with honey and vanilla.
- Palate: Smooth and mellow with beautifully combined flavours – nutty sweetness (almonds/hazelnuts), warming cinnamon spice, vanilla, honey, and a clear sherry influence.
- Finish: Long and warming, leaving lingering notes of gentle spice and sweetness.

Order Processing:
All in-stock items will be shipped within 1-2 business days from the date of order confirmation. Special order items or products not currently in stock may require additional processing time. You will be notified via email if any delays are expected with your order.
Adult Signature Requirement:
In compliance with federal law, all shipments containing alcohol require an adult signature (21 years or older) upon delivery. If no eligible person is available to sign for the delivery, the carrier will hold the package and attempt delivery on the next business day. A total of three delivery attempts will be made.
Carrier Warehouse Hold:
If delivery fails after three attempts, the package will be held at the carrier’s warehouse for up to 48 hours. During this time, the recipient is responsible for arranging pickup. If the package is not retrieved within the holding period, it will be returned to us.
Reshipment and Additional Costs:
If a package is returned due to failed delivery attempts or failure to collect the package from the warehouse, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipment. Bottles2Gift.com is not responsible for additional shipping fees incurred due to reshipment.
Shipping Restrictions:
Please be aware that we do not ship to P.O. Boxes or any location where alcohol delivery is prohibited by law. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with local shipping regulations prior to placing an order.
Damaged Shipments:
If your order arrives damaged or broken, please contact our customer service team immediately to report the issue. We will work with you to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
